Dotfloor Review: Factory-Direct Vinyl Plank Flooring Worth It?

When we decided to redo the floors in our main living room, I spent weeks comparing brands. Factory-direct, retail markup, big-box stores — the pricing games are exhausting. A renovation-focused community I follow kept mentioning Dotfloor, so I finally pulled the trigger. Here's what happened.

What Is Dotfloor?

Dotfloor is a manufacturer that sells luxury vinyl plank flooring, hybrid wood planks, and waterproof wall panels directly to consumers — cutting out the middlemen. With two US warehouses (Elk Grove, CA and Fort Lawn, SC), they ship fast across the country. Their product lines cover everything from budget-friendly vinyl planks to high-end hybrid wood collections.

The Product I Installed: New Parliament 810 Crosstown Traffic

I went with the New Parliament 810 Crosstown Traffic Rigid Core Vinyl Plank — 62.6" × 9" × 8 mm, 30 mil wear layer, Klein Blue IXPE backing. It's from their premium 810 line which is marketed for high-traffic areas. At $4.09/sq. ft. (sale price $79.99 per box), it's competitive for the spec level.

Installation Experience

Click-lock installation is genuinely straightforward. The planks are long (62.6") which means fewer end seams and a cleaner look in large rooms. The IXPE backing provides a slight cushion underfoot and helps with noise reduction — a big deal if you have a floor below. I had roughly 400 sq. ft. done over a weekend with basic tools.

Quality Assessment

The 3D-printed woodgrain texture is convincing up close. The 30 mil wear layer is commercial-grade — way beyond the 12 mil you'd find in most big-box alternatives at this price. After three months of daily use with pets and kids, zero scratches, zero peeling at the edges. The 100% waterproof claim holds — we had a dishwasher leak and the planks were completely unaffected.

Shipping & Support

Order shipped same day from their California warehouse. Arrived in 4 business days, well-packaged, zero damaged planks. Their customer service line (1-800-642-9929) answered quickly when I had a question about trim pieces. That kind of accessibility from a direct-manufacturer is rare.

Final Verdict

Dotfloor delivers premium vinyl plank at prices that undercut retail by a meaningful margin. The New Parliament 810 is a genuinely high-quality product — not a compromise. If you're renovating and tired of paying for a middleman's markup, this is the brand to call.
